Richard Harms 80 of Syracuse died Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 at Good Samaritan in Syracuse Nebraska.
He was born in Syracuse Nebraska April 13th, 1941 To Wilkie and Sophia (Schalk) Harms near Syracuse. Richard was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware) Syracuse. He attended country school at District 89 and District 40.
Richard helped on his family's farm until coming to live with Gaylord, Della, Dennis and Denise Rinnie at age 20, he farmed alongside Gaylord and Dennis the rest of his adult life. He was more than a hired hand but a loved family member. When Dennis and Cindy married, Rich was always there to help Cindy with the animals that they both loved. He was a kind, gentle and caring person. Declining health eventually sent him to live his final years at the Good Samaritan Center where he made many friends. The staff at Good Samaritan Center were caring and he loved to Joke with all of them.
Richard is survived by siblings Ella Beccard, John (Marlene) Harms, Fritz Harms, Helen Stubbendick, Ray (Betty) Harms; his other family Dennis and Cindy Rinne, Matt and Carrie Rinne, Emma and Sadie and Denise Valenzuela; also many nieces nephews cousin and friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents; brothers, Arnold Harms, and Sterling Harms; sisters Mary Griepenstroh, and Billie Harms.

Visitation 6:00 pm 8:00 pm Thursday, January 6th, 2022 at Hammons Family Funeral Chapel 207 West H Street Weeping Water. Interment Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware) Cemetery Syracuse, Nebraska.
