Margaret “Margie” Jean (Nelson) Pinkerton was born Sept 23, 1946, to Rev. Carl L. Nelson and Jean, in Tripoli, Lebanon where her parents were serving as missionaries. Margie later attended high school in Sidney, NE, and then went to Hastings College, where she graduated with a B.A. in English. She met her husband, Bob, while there, and they were married the summer before their senior year. They would be married for 52 years. Their children include daughters Susan (Hadley) and Robyn (Thiede), and son Tim. They also welcomed their nieces Carla (Phillips) Knott and Jenny Phillips into their family.

Margie and Bob were both teachers, and Margie later became the Business Manager for the Nebraska School Activities Association. Margie and Bob both enjoyed retirement in their home in Weeping Water, NE where they have resided for 30 years. Margie passed away peacefully April 6, 2019.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mary and Martha, and brother Steve. She is survived by her husband, children, brother Carl, sister Cathie, her nieces, as well as many grandchildren.
