June 1st, 1929 - Thursday, October 11th, 2018
Evelyn Christie, 89, of Lincoln died October 11, 2018 peacefully at home.
The daughter of Elizabeth and August Siemoneit, born on June 1, 1929 in Cass County Nebraska. She attended school in Cass County and Peru State College, where she received her professional teacher's training. She taught grades K through 8 in a one room schoolhouses in rural Cass County.
On December 22, 1948, she married TSGT Leamon Lawson (USAF).Their children are Steven (Kay) Lawson, Randy Lawson, and Barbara Shupe. After her husband's death, Evelyn was married to Navy veteran, James Christie. Their children are Jo Ann Christie, Jayme (Tony) Skov and Clayton (Monica) Christie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Leamon and James, daughter Jo Ann and son Steven, brother-in-law Don Teague. She is survived by her four adult children and their spouses, a sister Nancy (Don) Teague, a brother Ervin (Betty Lou) Siemoneit,
12 grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.

Evelyn has lived in Guam, Germany, Alabama, Bellevue and Wabash Nebraska. After James' death, Evelyn moved to Lincoln and was a travel partner to Jayme and her sons. In 2007 her daughter Barbara moved to Lincoln and they became roommates until Evelyn's death.
She was a lifelong loyal Husker fan. A member of the Gold Star Wives organization. Evelyn enjoyed relaxing in her recliner with a Diet A&W Cream Soda, watching Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune, working on Word Search Puzzles and playing Solitaire on her iPad. She also took pleasure in listening to Elvis and Johnny Cash and savoring the occasional glazed donut.

Funeral 11:00 am Friday, October 19th, 2018 at First Christian Church Weeping Water
Visitation one hour before service also at the church. Interment at the Wabash Cemetery Murdock NE.
